Kelly started out his artistic life affectionately known as "Chainsaw Kelly" for his works with driftwood. After acquiring a solid, local reputation for his fine work and creativity, Kelly created a series of inlaid tables.
Kelly has had a successful career as a woodworker, photographer, and sculptor. Most recently, Kelly has been manufacturing small graphite drawing tools and large Basalt tables, stools and benches.
Recently he has been honored with a 9 month interactive installtion at the Honolulu Art Museum from October 15, 2016 to July 17, 2017.
