Tom Walsh Biography

Nothing about the sculptures of Philomath, Oregon artist Tom Walsh is prosaic.   His modernist pieces, best described as graphics in three dimension, sing with movement, vibrant colors and unexpected harmonies of form.

A native of New York Sate, Walsh settled in Oregon in the late 1970's.  He has both a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts from the University of Oregon, and has been a working sculptor for over 25 years.  He is represented at galleries in Oregon, Washington and California and his work graces many public installations and private collections.

"I see my work as a reflection of shapes, sounds and "spirits"  of the environment we are a part of.  My work is spontaneous in that each starts with one shape and grows or evolves from there.  My work might best be described as "abstract organic" because, for me, the shapes are variations on elements of our world."
