Background Information 1942 Born in Dodge City, Kansas 1960 Graduated from Dodge City High School 1960 Attended Dodge City Jr. College - Art Major 1961 Attended Emporia State University - Art Major 1963 Moved to California with plans of attending Los Angeles Art Center. Instead worked at various jobs while enjoying the beach life. 1965 Joined the U.S. Army, basic training (Ft. Polk) and specialized training in military intelligence, counterintelligence at Ft. Holibird, Baltimore, MD 1966 Special Agent, Counterintelligence, U.S. Army. (honorably discharged in Dec 1968) 1969 Married Sue (we celebrated our 40th anniversary in June 2009) Enrolled at Portland State University (PSU) majoring in finance and investment analysis. 1971 Graduated from PSU with a Bachelor of Science degree. Became a partner in a stockbrokerage firm. 1979 Started R.W. Bane Studio, working evenings and week ends on commissioned portraits as well as other figurative sculptures, working from nature. 1981 With investment partners, purchased an investment advisory company. Served as Vice-President and Director of Research. 2000 Retired from investment business and reorganized R.W. Bane Studio changing name to R.W. Bane Studios, LLC.
