*It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to the wonderful artist Will Vinton, who passed away on Thursday, October 4th. Originally from McMinnville, Will created a new art form, and coined a new term for it: "Claymation". He won an Oscar in 1975 for the animated short film "Closed Mondays". Will created some of the most memorable characters in entertainment, including the dancing and singing California Raisins. He not only influenced Oregon's animation and movie industries, but also film animation worldwide. Will was creative, kind, friendly, funny and always optimistic. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and many fans around Oregon and around the world.
Nestled among the wineries of Oregon's picturesque countryside, Lawrence Gallery is a showcase for original paintings, indoor and outdoor sculpture, jewelry, wood and glass. Elegant exhibitions feature additional works by modern masters such as Picasso, Chagall, and Dali.
Collectors and artists from around the world have long known Lawrence Gallery as a West Coast destination for original fine art.
Art and Antiques Worldwide Media, LLC, publisher of one of the premier art magazines in the US, selected Lawrence Gallery as one of only seven galleries as the best places for building an art collection, and the only gallery chosen on the West Coast.
Note: Gary and Signe's son Bradley, and his wife Heidi, will be taking over the gallery business and property starting October 1, 2018. Bradley grew up in the family art business, and Heidi has been an award-winning residential and commercial designer in Seattle and Portland for over 25 years.
Together they plan to add to the unique Lawrence Gallery experience, both in person and online. They have already begun remodeling the gallery property, and they will be further updating the building and grounds over the next several months.
Bradley and Heidi Lawrence will continue to focus on the best Northwest artists, while providing a quality selection of authentic artwork by Dali and the Surrealists, Picasso, and more.
Many works from the recent Salvador Dali and the Surrealists exhibit will stay at the gallery for extended viewing. All pieces shown in our online catalog are from the Argillet Collection, Museum of Surrealism, Melun, France and may be available for purchase.
Please stay tuned for more news as the Lawrence Family reimagines the Gallery for our friends around the neighborhood and around the world.
